Overview
The project consist in designing an intelligent driver board for small stepper motors, with encoder feedback capability, serial interface control or external control by digital inputs and outputs.
Goal: developing a low-cost driver card for step motor control applicable to various equipments.
Development steps
The steps followed are as follows:
- Identification of a integrated driver for motors with size up to 24V 2A.
- Identification of a cost effective and powerful microprocessor.
- Design of an electronic board integrating different control possibilities: from autonomous control to various external interfaces.
Results
The study brought to the realization of a standardized low cost card for different application fields and equipments; extended use is possible thanks to high software flexibility.
